The UNPS Against the Current Career Academy is a progressive and modern approach to secondary education. It offers six distinct career pathways including Nursing, Construction, Automotive, Early Childhood, Culinary, and Entrepreneurial. The academy will provide all students with a dynamic learning environment with access to quality individualized instruction and hands-on career experiences to prepare them for life opportunities after high school with the support and integration of the cultural community. This beautiful new 36,000-square-foot addition provides a state-of-the-art instructional and laboratory area for each pathway. Students will have the opportunity to earn dual credit and vocational certifications. They can put their skills to work in a variety of settings including Macy’s first-ever restaurant, the Bluestem Coffee House and Café, and the Chief Store, which will market and sell Chief apparel and other native goods. These two businesses are open to the public as part of the career academy experience. A 350-seat auditorium will allow us to build our fine arts, have guest performances, and host professional development.
