ESU 6 was awarded a 100K Educator Pipeline grant from NDE, in partnership with the UNL Educational Administration department and NCSA. The grant focuses on developing teacher leaders and fostering their readiness and enthusiasm for pursuing educational leadership through the University of Nebraska Lincoln Ed Ad program pathways. The year one cohort occurred in the spring semester of 2023. Cohort teacher leader participants were nominated by their districts based on having demonstrated leadership initiative and possessing an interest in formally pursuing an Ed Leadership program and involvement in school leadership opportunities. Four full-day seminars were hosted by NCSA and UNL in the spring; taught by Dr. Sturgeon, UNL Associate Professor of Practice, with each day offering a different thematic focus on key characteristics of effective school leaders.
