Schools know they need to layer additional support for some students when universal screening data indicates unfinished learning, but are we layering the right support needed based on the data? More often than not, the supports students are receiving beyond Tier 1 Core fall within the realm of standardized, Tier 2 Targeted supports and rarely reach the level of individualization Tier 3 Intensified supports require or vice versa. In this session, the NeMTSS Region 3 team members will emphasize the difference between Tier 2 Targeted and Tier 3 Intensified supports while providing numerous examples that apply to early childhood through graduation while intertwining academics, social-emotional, and behavioral learning.
