The USDA National School Lunch Program's Community Eligibility Provision (CEP) offers an opportunity for schools to continue supporting students learning with nutritious meals. The end of the pandemic school meals flexibilities have uncovered ongoing challenges that the CEP can help schools and students overcome: student meal debt, and increase participation in the school meals program that supports students' learning as well as the financial viability of the school foodservice account.
